The house Wes Anderson built: A look at the director's singular troupe
His latest, 'Moonrise Kingdom,' bows at Cannes today
The Wilson Brothers
Appeared in: "Bottle Rocket" (Andrew, Luke, Owen), "Rushmore" (Andrew, Luke, Owen), "The Royal Tenenbaums" (Andrew, Luke, Owen), "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" (Owen), "The Darjeeling Limited" (Owen), "Fantastic Mr. Fox" (Owen)
What they bring: The Brothers Wilson (yes, there are three, though Owen and Luke are the most consistent and considerable collaborators) go way back with Anderson. Beginning with the "Bottle Rocket" short that yielded a feature film not long after, Owen Wilson holds, with Bill Murray, the record for most appearances in Anderson films. And though he doesn't show up in "Rushmore," he did co-write the screenplay. Luke has been used sparingly but always to great effect. Andrew, meanwhile, got a few quick spots in the early years but hasn't been around much since.
