The 11 Scariest Lady Villains: 'Game of Thrones,' 'Sopranos,' more
Are these the witchiest women in television history?
9. Alexis Carrington, "Dynasty"
Years: 1981-89, 1991
Best worst moment: Oh, so many catfights from which to choose... let's go with the mud fight at the beauty salon, just for kicks.
Why she was so bad it was good: Brought on to salvage the show from so-so ratings, Alexis (as played by Joan Collins) was exactly what "Dynasty" needed -- a manipulative viper who would stop at nothing to destroy her ex-husband's happiness with his blonde, annoyingly nice former secretary, Krystle. Alexis personified the woman scorned, and did a lovely job of stirring up drama whenever Krystle and Blake seemed a tad too happy -- and when that wasn't satisfying enough, she had a bevy of grown children to poke and prod. Granted, Alexis was probably a better fit for Blake, who was ruthless and nasty in his own right. but without Alexis to drive storyline after storyline (all while impeccably turned out), it's likely that "Dynasty" would have shuffled into early cancelation.
