8. 'Copying Beethoven' (2006)
Just 12 years after the mixed response to "Immortal Beloved" (starring Gary Oldman), Ed Harris took a shot at bringing the eccentric composer to life in this little-seen film which explores the final years of Beethoven, after his hearing was gone and he began to rely more and more on his new music copyist (Diane Kruger). The catch is, of course, she was entirely fictionalized for dramatic purposes. The film scraped up just $7 million worldwide and failed to garner even a hint of the awards acclaim to which it was doubtlessly aspiring.
