The 10 Greatest Super Bowl halftime shows of all time
Beyonce, Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and more
7. Paul McCartney, Super Bowl XXXIX (2005)
Paul McCartney is an old pro at playing to a stadium of screaming fans and he confidently opened the 2005 halftime show with only his Höfner bass at his side. The former Beatle had the advantage of some classic hits in his back pocket, starting with "Drive My Car” and ending in a crowd sing-along with "Hey Jude.” Though he went for massive pyrotechnics during "Live and Let Die,” this set really spoke to the enduring power of The Beatles’ songwriting and McCartney’s ability to connect with fans in the most grandiose of circumstances.
