Every few years, a hit song transcends the charts and becomes a pop culture movement. Like 2008’s “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” Jepsen’s sprightly “Call Me Maybe” took on a life of its own, spurring everyone from the U.S. Olympic swim team to “The Big Bang Theory” cast to “Sesame Street’s” Cookie Monster to make their own versions. The song, which spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200,  ended 2012 as the No. 2 song of the year on Billboard’s Hot 100.
