People come out of the closet every day; however, it is unprecedented that an R&B star -- operating closely in the hip-hop world -- has publicly revealed that he's something other-than-straight as his star's ascended. The Odd Future cohort released his Def Jam debut "Channel Orange" shortly after revealing via his Tumblr that his first love was a man: he went on to debut at No. 2 on The Billboard 200, earned six Grammy nominations and scored critical acclaim, as well as the vocal support of many of his peers. He has shown no interest in being painted into a corner -- as queer, gay, bi, anything -- but Ocean made a bold move and had accolades rewarded to him.
