9. 'Bad Wolf'/'The Parting of the Ways'
Doctor: Christopher Eccleston
Companions: Rose Tyler & Captain Jack Harkness
Why we Love it: The first season of the updated "Doctor Who" may not have been the most even, but it had some stand-out stories and was able to lay the groundwork for how the "Doctor Who" universe would now work. This two-part episode told us what a regeneration would look like on the new series, how ineffective the Time War truly was, gave more power/control to companions than they had before, and made it clear that the producers would drop hints to what was coming in the finale for the entirety of a season. Plus, some of the reveals and the ultimate conclusion sent shivers down our spines. It wasn't just a big two-part episode, it was huge – it made Captain Jack immortal, gave us a glimpse of David Tennant, and showed us more Daleks than we'd ever seen before.
