In 1980, William Friedkin ("The Exorcist," "The French Connection") directed Al Pacino in the controversial "Cruising," about a serial killer targeting members of the gay S&M community. According to the Sundance synopsis, a rumored 40 minutes of S&M footage was cut from the film.
