Loser: Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston, 'Celebrate'
The remake of "Sparkle" was met with a soft $12 million opening, but the soundtrack also lacked critical and commercial impact, even with the posthumous contributions from Houston, Sparks' "American Idol" fame and R. Kelly's soundtracking clout. This easy, high-spirited single dropped with little acclaim, as Houston's voice was obviously still on the fritz and the tune could make in-roads, seemingly, only with adult R&B stations.
