'Saturday Night Live' cast power rankings
We analyze the current cast’s overall importance to the show
8. Cecily Strong
Strong seems to understand what it takes to get on-camera, making her presence felt far more than Tim Robinson and Aidy Bryant thus far. At first, she found her niche through characters that spoke in ridiculous accents. But lately, she’s been able to add more normal characters to her repertoire. Strong is only the fourth Hispanic cast member in show history, which gives "SNL" potential access to an audience that currently puts Univision over NBC in terms of overall ratings. But thus far, the show (and Strong) has shied away from roles related to her heritage. Strong need not play Hispanic characters due to her ethnicity. But the show might do well to appeal to that demographic by airing more than “The Manuel Ortiz Show”. If the show does that, look for Strong to shoot to the top of the "SNL" food chain.
