Quick fixes for the fall's worst new TV Shows
Can 'Mom,' 'Dads,' and 'We Are Men' be saved?
Biggest Flaw: There are five or six different shows floating around in here, including the more serious ones about teen pregnancy, addiction and failed mothers seeking second chances.
Our Helpful Solution: I can't say which show "Moms" should be. I have my preferences, but they probably aren't the ones that would actually work. So instead, my solution is that whatever show they choose to do, they want to remember one thing: Anna Faris is an incredibly funny actress and she's being wasted as the straight-woman 85 percent of the time. For some reason, Faris is funny in her restaurant scenes and serious everywhere else. I personally like that she's bringing a note of melancholy and personal disappointment to the show, but some more laughs for and from the leading lady would help. Or they could just add Heather Locklear as a sexy AA counselor.
