Lowdown: Director Zal Batmanglij and longtime collaborator Brit Marling stunned Sundance with 2011's "Sound of My Voice," a film about infiltrating a secret religious cult. "The East" is described similarly, with "a mysterious anarchist collective," instead, getting an undercover invasion. Heavy hitters like producer Ridley Scott and talent like Alexander Skarsgård and Ellen Page have joined Marling and Batmanglij for this main-room attraction.
