Michael Jackson's Top 10 videos
9. 'Scream' (1995)
With a reported $7 million price tag, this dark, futuristic video was once deemed the most expensive of all time by the Guinness Book of World Records (a claim later refuted by director Mark Romanek), and the clip's ultra-slick production values certainly reflect that. Set in a luxurious, sleek-lined spacecraft far from the reach of the voracious media that the song's lyrics take to task, Michael and sister Janet don matching spiky sweaters and black leather pants for a fierce, guitar-smashing rant through outer space that's memorable for both its imaginative black-and-white photography and the siblings' visceral, anger-fueled performances. Romanek, who would go on to even greater acclaim for films including "One Hour Photo" and "Never Let Me Go," won a well-deserved Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video for his efforts.
