London Olympics Closing Ceremonies - Best and Worst
Best and Worst: Parade of the Athletes
Since the 1956 Melbourne Games the athletes have traditionally walked in together, but the organizers included the nice touch of having them walk in through different parts of the stadium through the audience (well some of them). At the worst, it was a great touch for audiences watching on TV. Unfortunately, the organizers massively (we assume) mistimed the arrival of the athletes. The live music ran out and they were forced to play taped versions of songs from the previous performances. And then there were the shots of the athletes lying or sitting down…Well, you get the picture.
