Kristopher Tapley's Top 10 Films of 2012
From 'A(mour)' to 'Z(ero Dark Thirty)'
10. "The Master" (Paul Thomas Anderson)
I almost feel compelled to put Paul Thomas Anderson's much-discussed sixth feature film on the list because the understanding and wielding of craft is impeccable. It goes on a bit, and reminds that you can have too much of a good thing, but whatever. It's just such a rich piece of work, about so many things yet not entirely dense, which is its brilliance. It's a Rorschach in many ways, not in and of itself complex, but so complexly revealing.
