10. "Knight and Day" (2010)

The role: Lovestruck spy Roy Miller

Nominated for: nothing

Won: nothing

Thoughts: No, this isn't a joke. Cruise is on full tilt in "Knight and Day," the absolute commitment really striking amid the chaos of a mediocre (if over-maligned) action comedy. And that's been a hallmark of Cruise's career, turning nothing into something. It's what carried him through four "Mission: Impossible" movies and here, it was just fun to watch.
