From 'The Avengers' to 'E.T.' - 20 Reasons to own a Blu-ray player in Fall 2012
For a format that's supposedly on the way out, Blu-ray's looking pretty good
"Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein"
I tried showing this to my kids before any of the other Universal monster movies, thinking it would make a nice gateway for them, but it turned out to be even scarier for them because I think they identified completely with Lou Costello, who is, after all, a big kid. What it did do is give them a fondness for all Abbott and Costello movies, with this now considered one of the greatest of all great movies by them. We've just about worn our old DVD out completely, so I'm betting this Blu-ray, part of the outstanding 100th Anniversary series by Universal, gets some heavy play time once it shows up.
