Good girls gone bad: From Elizabeth Taylor to Anne Hathaway
Which stars pulled a 'Spring Breakers' before Selena Gomez?
Film she went 'bad' for: "Havoc"
Why it was shocking: Of all of the young Disney stars near the turn of the century, Anne Hathaway seemed the most genuinely squeaky clean, sophisticated and polished even in 'The Princess Diaries,' and she looked like a safe bet for mainstream romantic comedy stardom if she wanted it. She sent a very specific message to casting directors, though, when she took a role in 'Havoc,' a film about spoiled LA girls who go looking for something more 'real,' ending up entangled in the world of Hispanic street gangs. The nudity in the film feels dangerous, like the threat of violence is always right at hand, and Hathaway threw herself into the part with abandon. She's proven many times since then that nudity onscreen is not a stumbling block if she likes the role, but she's never really pushed things as dark as 'Havoc' again.
