Cultivate musical guests to create unique moments

And no, we don't mean trying to recreate that Lana Del Rey debacle. Kanye West's visually stunning performances in 2010 expanded the parameters of what an artist could do within the confines of the stage. Mick Jagger's collaboration with Arcade Fire was a highlight of last season, a musical moment rarely seen regardless of venue. Musical guests should be not only trying to promote themselves, but view "SNL" not unlike a performance at The Grammys. It's no long enough to simply show up, plug in, and play on. "SNL" has a responsibility to not only cultivate performers that will draw eyeballs, but wow those eyeballs as well come performance time.
