2013 Emmy Nominations Winners and Losers
Justin Timberlake and Louis C.K. shine as 'New Girl' is snubbed
Winner and Loser: 'Behind the Candelabra's Scott Bakula and Rob Lowe
In "Behind the Candelabra," it took some doing to steal focus away from Michael Douglas or Matt Damon, but Rob Lowe managed to do exactly that. With his skin pulled back so tightly his eyes likely couldn't shut, he wobbled through scenes clinking a glass of scotch on the rocks like Marley's ghost ratting his chains, warning his new friends of a grim future. That Lowe managed to strike the right balance between camp and drama is more than impressive; that I wanted to see a movie about Dr. Startz more than I wanted to watch more of "Behind the Candelabra" is telling. That Bakula got a nod for a completely unmemorable role as bland buddy Bob Black in the same movie is just depressing.
