Emmy Nomination Preview 2013 - Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy
Can Sofia Vergara or Betty White dethrone Julie Bowen?
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy
Last Year's Nominees:
Julie Bowen, "Modern Family"
Merrit Wever, "Nurse Jackie"
Kathryn Joosten, "Desperate Housewives"
Sofia Vergara, "Modern Family"
Kristen Wiig, "Saturday Night Live"
Mayim Bialik, "The Big Bang Theory"
Attrition: Last year was Kristen Wiig's last year on "Saturday Night Live," so she's no longer eligible here. The late Kathryn Joosten also be back, of course. You can pretty much guarantee the return of both "Modern Family" nominees, but the other two nominees were both first time nominees from long-running shows, so it'll remain to see if Wever and Bialik are about to become perennials, or if last year was just a one-off for both. If you assume that Wever and Bialik are still contenders, but that they're not sure-things by any means, this could be one of the most wide-open Emmy fields.
