Emmy Nomination Preview 2013 - Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy
Will the four 'Modern Family' men stack the category again?
Will Arnett of 'Arrested Development'
Will Arnett, "Arrested Development"
Nomination Status: Former nominee could return.
In His Favor: In its last year of eligibility, back in 2006, Will Arnett was the only "Arrested Development" actor to pick up an Emmy nod. Arnett then received four variably deserved nominations for guest starring on "30 Rock," suggesting that Emmy voters were willing to honor him for absolutely anything he happened to do. Arnett should be in decent position to return to the Emmy field thanks to "Colony Collapse," which many fans felt was the best of the Netflix "Arrested Development" episodes. Probably Arnett won't get nearly as much support on the back of "A New Attitude," but all you really need to pick up an Emmy nomination, and even to win, is one good episode and he has that. The sacrilegious magic show is the stuff that Emmy nods are made of.
Working Against Him: Who knows how Emmy voters will respond to the peculiar deluge of "Arrested Development" episodes and if they're ready to welcome Arnett back into their hearts. This gallery is assuming that an Emmy spot comes down to Emmy voters choosing if they want to say "Good-bye" to "The Office" or "Welcome back" to "Arrested Development."
