Can anybody break the Jim Parsons/Alec Baldwin logjam in this category?

Nomination Status: Nominee-for-life.

In His Favor: Alec Baldwin has five nominations and two wins for his work on "30 Rock." That means he's only got two more nominations to go before the acclaimed comedy ends its run. Don't worry. He'll get both. And don't bet against at least one more win, with "30 Rock" enjoying a comeback last season. Alec Baldwin might be an odd guy and we might wish he'd stop talking out loud about his plans to leave or continue with "30 Rock," but when the show is over, we're going to reflect on Jack Donaghy as an all-time classic comedy character. So enjoy watching him.

Working Against Him: Michael Scott was also an all-time classic comedy character and Steve Carell won zero Emmys for playing him. That's not relevant to Baldwin's Emmy chances, but since Baldwin is a 100 percent lock to be nominated, I can vamp in the "Working Against Him" field.
