Emmy Nomination Preview 2012 - Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy
Can anybody break the Jim Parsons/Alec Baldwin logjam in this category?
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy
Last Year's Nominees:
Jim Parsons, "The Big Bang Theory"
Alec Baldwin, "30 Rock"
Steve Carell, "The Office"
Louis C.K., "Louie"
Johnny Galecki, "The Big Bang Theory"
Matt LeBlanc, "Episodes"
Attrition: Steve Carell is gone, leaving without an Emmy for his tenure on "The Office." That's a black mark on the Emmy voting record, but it's neither here nor there. Also gone, for this year at least, is Matt LeBlanc, because "Episodes" didn't air within the eligibility window. And part of me wants to believe that the Johnny Galecki weirdness wasn't a repeatable phenomenon. Either way, there are a couple open slots and a slew of strong candidates just champing at the bit to earn a little Emmy recognition.
