Disney buys Lucasfilm: 10 things to watch for
New TV series, Disney Store boost, ILM and Pixar collaboration and more
New 'Star Wars' rides or lands at Disney Parks
'Star Tours' is a lot of fun for 'Star Wars' fans, and I will never forget when the first version opened at the Orlando park and I found myself standing under an AT-ST full-size replica with a bunch of other giddy nerds, thrilled to be that close to something tangible from the 'Star Wars' universe. But this deal changes everything. After all, Disney was willing to build an entire addition to the California Adventure park to celebrate 'Cars,' and that is far from beloved on the magnitude of 'Star Wars.' I would be shocked if we don't hear plans to add a major expansion in Orlando in the very near future, and the thought of an entire section of the park, a 'Star Wars Land,' if you will, is enough to make me start planning the next decade's worth of family vacations. And with 'Star Wars' still one of the largest international franchises of all times, you could easily make the same plans for the Tokyo park or the French park as well.
