In Memoriam 2011: Notable passings in the world of entertainment
A look back at fallen stars Amy Winehouse, Steve Jobs, Elizabeth Taylor
Jane Russell, 89
One of the biggest stars of the '40s and '50s, the statuesque Russell got her start in Howard Hughes' incendiary western melodrama "The Outlaw" (pictured), which was delayed by censors for several years. Later, she had hits with Bob Hope ("Paleface") and Marilyn Monroe ("Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"). She passed away due to respiratory illness at 89.
