Lowdown: One of Broadway's most popular jukebox musicals directed by "Hairspray's" Adam Shankman featuring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Mary J. Blige and Russell Brand and it tanks? This was the musical filled with '80s heavy metal rock songs that was supposed to appeal to men, but it barely did better than "Rent." Did Cruise actually turnoff the intended audience? Did it still look too Broadway?  Did the reviews hurt that much? Warner Bros. is still scratching their heads over this one.
