Worst: Coke - 'Chase'
Neither Pepsi or Coke popped with their ads this year (although the former got more brand awareness sponsoring Beyonce's half-time show), but Coca-Cola's big budget desert race seemed like the biggest waste of money. A cowboy, a "Mad Max" motorcycle driver and a bus filled with showgirls (possibly a nod to "Priscilla Queen of the Desert") race after what may or may not be a mirage of a giant Coca-Cola bottle in the middle of the desert. After trying to best each other to get their first they arrive to discover a sign that says "50 miles." Subtly, it actually gives the viewer the message that it's a lot of work to get a coke and it might not be worth it. Maybe the grand old soft drink company should go back to polar bears next year?
