Best and Worst of the 2014 Academy Awards
Ups and downs on the telecast, as always
Best: Lupita Nyong’o
For many, the Supporting Actress category boiled down to a two-woman race, with the "12 Years a Slave" star facing "American Hustle" Oscar vet Jennifer Lawrence. Nyong'o's harrowing film debut (to repeat: it was her film debut) ultimately won over the voters, and the young actress delivered a stirring victory speech. She also sported a chic look that provided a stark contrast to her brutal time onscreen in "Slave."
