Best and Worst of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards
What would the first post-'Twilight' MMA bring?
Best and Worst: Rebel Wilson
Host Rebel Wilson has to be lauded for doing three things. First, she got James Franco to mock his own Oscar hosting gig in a pre-taped segment (he's never done it publicly before). Second, she's one of the few hosts who could sing live during the show's opening number. Third, she wasn't afraid to take cracks at other Hollywood stars in the audience and others thankfully absent (something outside of Russell Brand's gig was missing from the "Twilight" dominated previous four shows). And while she was as edgy as Brand last year, she actually wasn't as funny overall (and he wasn't very funny). It's not that her material was awful, but it just didn't play to the room. Now, a show where she'd kill? The Independent Spirit Awards. That's something a more experienced Andy Samberg learned earlier this year when he rocked the annual Oscar weekend precursor.
