Worst: Sacha Baron Cohen

Worst: Sacha Baron Cohen

Appearing to announce the winner of the best animated feature film category, Cohen appeared to be trying to play an old-school British entertainer as, um, himself?  In an odd bit, he referenced his "Les Miz" cast members joking "Russell Crowe had four months of singing lessons.  That was money well spent." That zinger some good laughs, but then noted his co-star throughout most of the film, Helena Bonham Carter, "gave the head of the Academy a personal massage which I'm lead to believe had a much happier ending than the movie." Carter laughed along with Pixar and Disney Animations head John Lassiter (she was at the "Frankenweenie" table with husband Tim Burton), but it all felt a bit too forced. Maybe if Cohen had delivered it without the old school affectation it would have worked?
