Best and Worst of the 2013 Golden Globe Awards
Worst: Network TV gets shut out
Taken in bits and pieces, HBO had a good night with a slew of wins for "Girls" and "Game Change." Showtime had a terrific night with "Homeland" dominating and Don Cheadle winning. History got a win for Kevin Costner. PBS got a win for Maggie Smith. And ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW? Zero. Zilch. Nada. Seriously, that's what "Modern Family" is supposed to be there for! So the major networks don't get utterly shamed at these things. Instead, "Modern Family" suffered a rare award show defeat, falling to "Girls," which made up for a slew of Emmy losses with a big Golden Globes night. Early prediction: Michael J. Fox wins a Globe next year for his NBC sitcom, preventing a comparable embarrassment in 2014.
