Best and Worst of the 2013 Golden Globe Awards
Best: Lena Dunham's genuine enthusiasm
Yes, awards shows are cheesy and shallow and it's annoying when the winners take them too seriously, but in an industry as phony and affected as Hollywood there was something refreshing about Dunham's clear exhilaration at having her pet creation "Girls" so embraced by the HFPA (the show won for Best TV Series - Comedy or Musical and Dunham won Best Actress). Indeed, she was so nervous that in the final flourish of her first speech one of her shaky hands very nearly caused a wardrobe malfunction. Now that's sincerity.
