Best and Worst of Comic-Con 2013
'Veronica Mars,' 'Community,' Loki, Vin Diesel and more
Best: Off-site immersive experiences
"Walking Dead," "Godzilla," "Kick-Ass 2," "Ender's Game"... everyone seemed determined to expand Comic-Con out of the convention center and into the streets of San Diego this year, and it seems like it's happening more and more. Done well, these are like theme park haunted houses where you give your audience a chance to step into your movie. Done poorly, it's another line you stand in for four hours just so someone can hand you some marketing materials. If you're going to lure people into something you call an "experience," make it one, and it seems like the studios are working harder and harder to make sure they do it right.
