Best: "How I Met Your Mother" makes a terrific first (and last) Comic-Con impression
With Dr. Horrible, Willow Rosenberg and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in the cast, "HIMYM" was already more Con-friendly than your average sitcom without explicit nerd content. But it was clear that the fans in attendance at the show's one and only Con appearance loved "HIMYM" for its own virtues. They sang along with Cobie Smulders on "Let's Go to the Mall" and Jason Segel on "Bangity-Bang," laughed uproariously at a foul-mouthed video of Lyndsy Fonseca and David Henrie as Future Ted's bitter (and grown-up) children, and roared their approval at mentions of obscure "HIMYM" guest characters, stories and even props. And for fans who haven't been happy with the last few seasons, and have been aghast at the thought of the final season taking place entirely over the long weekend for Robin and Barney's wedding, creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas made some very promising suggestions about how the wedding would just be used as a framework for many glimpses of the past and future of the gang and Cristin Milioti as the Mother. It's the most optimistic I've felt about the show in several years.
