Best and Worst films of Cannes 2013
Worst: 'Michael Kohlhaas'
Director: Arnaud des Pallières
Stars: Mads Mikkelsen, Mélusine Mayance, Delphine Chuillot, David Kross, Denis Lavant
Why: Based on a classic 1811 novella, des Pallières succeeds brilliantly at removing all most all of the story's action and dramatic moments. Perhaps the most unexpectedly boring film at the festival, "Kohlhaas" wastes the talents of its cast (particularly Mikkelsen who won the best actor award last year at Cannes for "The Hunt") and Adrien Debackere and Jeanne Lapoirie's gorgeous cinematography.
