It is a criminal shame that we were not given more adventures of Easy Rawlins and Mouse, particularly since the novels are so good and they got the casting exactly right with Denzel Washington and Don Cheadle.  I love the way Walter Moseley's books trace the history of Los Angeles, especially for post-War black Americans, and returning to these characters every few years would have been a unique and even significant approach to a mystery series.  This is one of those great buddy relationships that would have been great to see develop over time, and I feel like we really missed out every time I revisit the film.
