Lowdown: Based the 2008 Pulitzer Prize comedic play, "August" is already one of The Weinstein Company's end of year major awards contenders before a single frame of footage has been shown to the public. That's what happens when you take material of this caliber, the one and only Meryl Streep and prolific Emmy-winning director John Wells. Whether all the pieces will fit together remains to be seen, but the finished product will be as much a must-see on Broadway as it is in Hollywood.
