Director: Neil Blomkamp
Cast: Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Diego Luna
Release Date: August 9
Lowdown: Blomkamp's 'District 9' was one of the most enjoyable science-fiction surprises in recent memory, and his second film promises to be just as exciting. On the page, it is a blunt-force-trauma metaphorical look at America's relationship with illegal immigrants, and its messages about how the rich victimize and exploit the poor are sure to infuriate some, but Blomkamp is emerging as one of the few filmmakers working today who takes the full potential of science-fiction seriously.  The cast is thrilling, and I can't help but smile at the notion of Foster and Fichtner together again in a science-fiction film for the first time since 'Contact'.
