2014 BAFTA Award predictions
'Gravity,' '12 Years a Slave,' 'Philomena'... what will the Brits go for?
Gregory Ellwood, Guy Lodge and Kristopher Tapley predict: Alfonso Cuaron, "Gravity"
Lowdown: It might well be hometown son Steve McQueen, but with 11 nominations, "Gravity" surely has to take at least one of the big ones -- and with DGA and Golden Globe wins (among others) behind him, this is the safest bet. Note that BAFTA splits the Best Film and Director awards more often than the Academy does.
