A WGA nominee in a field that saw films like "Amour" and "Django Unchained" left off due to ineligibility, "Flight" is a movie that has something major going for it overall: a November release from a star filmmaker with a movie star front and center. That means everyone saw the film, and most who saw it took a shine. Is it enough to push John Gatins that extra few inches? It might be.
