Chloe Moretz, 'Kick-Ass'

Controversy erupted when 11-year-old Moretz was first seen in her role as the ass-kicking vigilante Hit-Girl, with critics decrying her active involvement in the film's ultra-gory, profanity-laden action sequences. Indeed, seeing a sweet-faced pre-teen slicing off limbs and spewing all manner of curse words on-screen isn't exactly a common occurrence, but perhaps the most shocking thing of all was how convincing Moretz's performance actually was. As a result, she managed to very nearly steal the film from her more experienced co-stars, which, when you've got veteran scenery-chewer Nicolas Cage in the cast, is no small feat.
