Aquaman

Previous Incarnations: "Aquaman" (2007)

Why: A movie with significant action taking place *under* water sounds like a production nightmarish enough to make the challenges of "Waterworld" and "Jaws" look like student films. Maybe that's why an Aquaman feature has never made it past the shallow end of the development pool. The CW came close with a weekly TV series spun off of "Smallville," but the pilot didn't get a pickup. (Like last season's ill-fated "Wonder Woman" pilot, they both featured "Friday Night Lights'" Adrianne Palicki. Coincidence? Probably.) But if DC ever wants to get a "Justice League" movie off the ground to rival Marvel's "The Avengers," they're gonna need founding member Aquaman. The only question is: Who can pull it off? Maybe "Entourage" had the right idea: they need James Cameron.
