Blade

Previous incarnations: "Blade" (1998), "Blade II" (2002), "Blade: Trinity" (2004), "Blade: The Series" (2006)
Movies or TV:
Movies
Why:
While we certainly love parts of "Blade" and most of "Blade 2," and you could argue that the modern wave of superhero movies would not have gotten started without Stephen Norrington's original film, there is plenty of room to start over with this franchise. The key is embracing the wild and bizarre nature of the horror, and mixing the horror with the big action beats of a superhero film is what gives "Blade" a very different feel than any other Marvel property. The big question is who actually has the rights at this point. Since New Line hasn't done anything with the material in a while, there's a chance this has reverted to Marvel, and it would be a trip to see them make an R-rated stand-alone before dropping him into someone else's movie as a guest star, or using one of their films starring another hero to kickstart a brand new take on Blade.
