Leave it to icy auteur Stanley Kubrick to plant a smile on our faces while destroying the planet in this, the ultimate Cold War-era comedy. After hours of inane back-and-forth between inert bureaucrats, psychotic generals, hapless bomber crews and duplicitous German scientists, the Doomsday Machine finally puts an end to all the petty squabbling ("He'll see the big board!") and seemingly pointless Earthly endeavors ("You're gonna have to answer to the Coca-Cola company"). "Well Meet Again" indeed.
