Since he was discovered for "Antwone Fisher," Derek Luke has had several shots at stardom, but "Biker Boyz" and "Glory Road" and "Notorious" and "Miracle at St. Anna" and even the excellent "Friday Night Lights" feature (plus some TV stuff) gave him an interesting resume, but only a mid-range profile. At 38, Luke would be a seasoned, but presumably inexpensive candidate and he's only going to gain exposure with this summer's "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World" and "Sparkle." Of course, in order to cast Luke, Marvel would have to forget that he played Gabe Jones in "Captain America." Fortunately, America has already forgotten that he was in "Captain America."
