And we won’t even bring up the 2001 movie, “Glitter.” She then signed with Island Def Jam and went on to release “The Emancipation of Mimi” in 2005, her first album since 1997’s “Butterfly.” “Mimi” was a huge success, in part due to single “We Belong Together,” which Billboard named the Song of the Decade. We’ll see if she can reinvent herself one more time with her next album, the one we’ve been waiting for since 2009’s “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” one of the poorest selling albums of her career.
