Date of release: June 20, 2003
Rotten Tomatoes: 62%
Metacritic: 54/100
Why: Viciously disliked by most comic book fans because of a disappointing last 10 minutes or so, Ang Lee's stab at the Marvel Comics icon is actually one of the more inventive and creative super hero films ever. From Lee's use of comic-like multiple panels to some amazing CG animation (which many seem to have forgotten), Lee brought his fantastic cinematic eye to the gamma-powered monster. After the box office sputtered, Lee also got the blame.  Of course, the "reboot" made almost the exact same gross five years later and was 10 steps back in terms of style and execution. Just sayin'.
