Why it should be on your radar: Three months before Edgar Wright's “The World's End” hits theaters, aficionados of British comedy will be treated to something decidedly different from Wright's stable. He's the executive producer of Ben Wheatley's gleefully twisted black farce, in which a dowdy young woman's dreary caravan vacation with her seemingly milquetoast new boyfriend takes a grisly, psychotic turn somewhere around the Streetcar Museum. Wheatley's 2011 film 'Kill List' proved his knack for blending macabre genre tropes with cockeyed humor, and this microbudget follow-up – written by its two stars, both well-regarded stand-ups – has all the makings of a future cult item. It's already been a success at home, where readers of Empire magazine voted it the best British film of 2012.
