Bruno Mars' "Unorthodox Jukebox"
If the first two tracks, the stutter-stepping, finger-popping “Locked Out of Heaven” and the dreamy “Young Girls,” are any indication, Bruno Mars’ sophomore set, “Unorthodox Jukebox,” will only continue the singer/songwriter/producer’s ascension as a major pop player who, like Justin Timberlake, can seemingly do it all. Mars’ Grammy album-of-the-year nominee “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” signified the arrival of a bright, young talent via smashes like “Grenade” and “Just The Way You Are.” For “Jukebox,” out Dec. 11, Mars ups the ante as he and his partners in production team The Smeezingtons collaborate with top-line producers Jeff Bhasker, Mark Ronson and Diplo on the 10-track set. -Melinda Newman
